Bring Best Buddies Brews to SDSU!

OUR 31 DAY CAMPAIGN!
Best Buddies is a worldwide, non-profit organization dedicated to creating lifelong friendships, leadership development and job opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
At San Diego State, Best Buddies matches SDSU students with adults with disabilities from the San Diego community. We have weekly meetings and participate in activities like karaoke nights, packing meals for the homeless, dance competitions, holiday parties, arts and crafts, and movie screenings are just to name a few.
University of North Carolina’s Best Buddies Chapter has recently started a new initiative called Best Buddies Brews. Their mission is twofold and mutually beneficial to both our participants and the broader community:
“The pop-up stand offers participants an opportunity to develop their marketable skills, build friendships, and network. Everyone deserves a space to contribute and engage with their community.
We believe our positive presence in the community will foster a culture that anticipates, values, and celebrates diversity. At large, this stand will play a part in enacting Best Buddies’ mission to end social, physical, and economic exclusion of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).”
They proudly partner with HÆRFEST COFFEE (pronounced "harvest" from Old English variant), a coffee outreach company that utilizes the HÆRFEST of coffee to impact lives and create positive change.
We want to bring Best Buddies Brews to San Diego State University. Our goals is to have this pop-up coffee shop once a week on campus run by our buddies with disabilities with assistance from SDSU peers.
We strongly believe that bringing Best Buddies Brews to campus will bring inclusivity not just to SDSU, but the surrounding San Diego community.
