This fundraiser has been created as a central portal for charitable giving aimed at the many friends and family of John Anthony Vittor along with those of giving hearts that would love to donate a little towards helping a gentle soul in need, a man many of us affectionately know simply as Uncle John.
To say a little about the great man: Anyone that has had a moments interaction with him has felt John’s joyous and warm spirit, recognized within him a man with a heart of gold whose never let limitations diminish his enjoyment of life and love for all those around him.
Rarely asking of others, John has always been a selfless giver, providing the many of us throughout the years with with unconditional love, side splitting laughter, genuine empathy and a deeper understanding of our humanity for those that edge on the philosophical side. Thus it must be said in no uncertain terms that to know John is to love John.
Just recently, John celebrated another trip around our sun (68!!!) and what a better way for all those who know and love him to show how much we care then to donate to his welfare and future needs as he rests and recovers at his home in Mobile AL.
As many may or may not know, over the past couple years John has unfortunately been grappling with a series of serious health issues. Thankfully his spirit is strong and he is on the mend. Yet, it is apparent his quality of life has been greatly diminished by limited mobility caused by the various health issues (including serious blood clots of the legs) along with a series of procedures that have been done on his mouth that have removed the majority of his teeth. He has abut a few left but soon will be left with no teeth at all due to full extraction.
While his basic medical needs are met via Medicare, John is financially unable to cover the costs of high quality dentures that would allow him proper nutrition for his overall health and healing, more comfortable chewing, enjoyment of comfort foods along with the confidence that a big bright smile brings. John has simply been learning to adapt and live with this current situation. All of us that know John understand he deserves better and we can all play a part to help remedy this current situation ASAP.
Ideally, we would raise the total amount to be able get the best set of Dentures money can buy along with the costs of extraction of John's last remaining teeth plus some. $7500 would help tremendously towards this goal but keep in mind that it’s only a general amount. Hopefully, we can do even better and raise above and beyond!!!
While every dollar will go straight towards John's dental care first and foremost (minus the GoFundMe fees labeled on the site), please note that anything beyond will 100% go towards John solely for any of his future needs and wants. This is all for John and we love him.
