Florence
Our daughter Florence was born at 32 weeks by emergency c section and taken to special care unit in Galway. She weighed 4lbs and was doing well until day 3 when she took a turn and got a severe infection called necrotysing endro colitis. She was immediately taken of feeds and starved for 14 days and put on antibiotics for 10. She had blood transfusions and put on a drip made specifically for her called tpn. She began to get better and we reintroduced foods. Day 4 again Florence took a bad turn the NEC was back again and she needed emergency care. She was taken by ambulance to Crumlin in Dublin where they treated her for NEC again starving her little body again for 14 days. Florence started to do really well again and was fed through a tube my breast milk that I had pumped for her during her really sick days so we were discharged and finally bringing her home after 6 very scary long weeks to meet her brother and 2 sisters. That didn't last long, we went bank in to Uhg 3 days before Halloween where Florence was put back on drips, starved again the works. We were sent home 4 days later. Now we've been informed in a&e in Galway her bowel has perforated and she needs attention by surgeons in Crumlin. Our little girl is only 5lbs and 7 weeks old. We have 3 children at home that haven't seen much of mummy or daddy or their baby sister in weeks. We need all the help we can get at this point while our little girl is transported back to Crumlin to see what's ahead of her. We're really struggling at this point so any help would be a huge help to take a little weight of this traumatic situation.
