With life comes many unknowns and changes. Although this is something that should be expected, there are things that you could never fathom would ever hit so close to home. The upcoming year will be full of trails, tribulations, and an immense amount of fighting. Though we know our year will be long, hard, and uncertain, it will in no way compare with the year one of us will have to face. On April 13th our amazing sister, daughter, aunt, wife, and mother Nina was diagnosed with breast cancer.

While the last few weeks have been a whirlwind of information, appointments, tears, research, and tough decisions, there are a few certainties that we have come to understand and accept. She is set to have surgery next week and then once healed she will have to undergo chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

To say Nina is strong and fighter seems unnecessary because anyone that knows her knows these two qualities make up so much of who she is right to the core; she is taking this diagnosis head on and with a vengeance, just as we knew she would. Nina is beyond blessed and fortunate to have the amazing support system of family and friends who will be right there fighting with her every step of the way.

Saying we are grateful for all of you who have reached out to show your support is truly the understatement of a lifetime; Nina is much stronger because of each and every one of you. While we know your love and support are two of the best things she could ever receive, many of you have asked how else you can help. We have set up this platform to allow her family and friends to donate money to assist with the day to day expenses and comfort items she will use during her recovery from surgery and during her chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Thank you for being there for Nina, we will be forever grateful. It’s during times like these where you need your support system and we are so blessed to say she has a support system unlike any other. We are filled with hope, determination, and certainty that she will beat this.
