Alex is 14 years old and is battling Pylocitic Astrocytoma Cancer for a second time and needs your help with prayers, support, and love. Alex was first diagnosed with this rare type of brain cancer on June 23, 2013. Alex and his family rallied through surgery and treatment in 2013-14 and experienced pure joy when Alex's brain MRI came back "all clear". Unfortunately, a few short months later, on January 21, 2015; the Children's Hospital of LA Neuro Brain Surgeon confirmed that the journey continues with Alex Ayala and his Pylocitic Astrocytoma. Both times coming to CHLA for brain surgery there is a lot of suspense and anxiety. But this time after the surgery, we all were thinking it was soon to be over. But it's not. It has been confirmed by the Post-Op MRI that there is still more of the tumor embedded into the most precious part of Alex's brain. The surgeon and his passionate team made a decision to not go back in and surgically try to remove the remainder of the tumor. The doctor would rather have Alex live a happy life rather than causing paralysis due to the tumors location on the spinal cord or cause blindness due to location at the cerebellum. It's devastating news to the Ayala family as there is 60 weeks of Chemotberapy start 20May2015. Please continue to pray and give Alex reasons to continue fighting. Bless your heart for any donation you give as no amount is too small. Donations will be used to cover medical expenses that will help Alex and his family be together to fight and overcome this dreaded disease. Medical Expenses: capped medical charges, specialized treatments, recovery comforts, physical therapy services, occupational therapy services, medical mileage, and whatever else is placed in the arsenal.
Miscellaneous Expenses: Ronald McDonald House daily fee so the family can stay nearby, if necessary, food, gas, and a portion of the money will be used to bring Alex's grandparents from Wisconsin to California so they can be with Alex and support their family in this fight.
Thank you for your support for Alex--please keep sending him healing prayers, positive energy, and love.
