Friends, family, and animal lovers alike, my boyfriend and I received some devastating news about our sweet girl Willow (a 2 year old Sarplaninac pup).
We took her to a veterinary clinic where we requested x-rays due to a limp in one of her hind legs that started out of nowhere. The results came back as such:
• She has torn BOTH of her Anterior Cruciate Ligaments (ACL’s)
• She was born with hip dysplasia that presented very early on in her life
• She has arthritis in her hips and hind legs that is also already presenting at her young age
*Total cost for the surgery ALONE (not including therapy, medication, transfusions, or anything else) is $10,000*
We rescued her from a very unideal situation some months ago, and have worked very hard to get her to a healthy weight, to show her love for the first time, and to give her the happiest, most loving life that we can.
A little background about Willow: in the time we’ve had her, she has blossomed from a shell of an animal into the sweetest, kindest, goofiest, most loving pup that you could ever imagine. She is so full of life, happiness, and excitement. Since her diagnosis, she has slowed down and we can tell she is in pain. We need all the help and support we can get in getting her back to her true self so that she can live out her days in pain-free happiness.
We also have a senior dog who has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and arthritis due to his old age. We are giving ALL of our extra funds to his medical needs and now hers as well. It is hard, but we are doing everything we possibly can for our babies.
Now, we are seeking all the help we can get so that we can pay for the expense of her medications, her vet appointments, therapy, and surgery to correct her tears as soon as possible, on top of our senior dogs needs.
I truly, truly appreciate you taking the time to read this, and we appreciate ANYTHING that anyone is willing to give. Whether that be a donation, a share, a comment, keeping her in your thoughts/prayers, or whatever else you can give. We just want Willow to be Willow again.
Thank you so much.
