First off, Thanks for reading this. I'm writing on behalf of, one of Garfield's most notorious and lovable residents, Hank. The fur-baby of Pittsburgh local Heather Anderson, Hank started to show medical symptoms 5/15 Monday morning and quickly got worse. Heather could see the signs of potential internal bleeding and rushed him to the PVSEC on Camp Horne Rd. He was admitted and assessed. As of 5/16, Hank was diagnosed with Immune Thrombocytopenia, a blood condition where he can't create enough platelets and in turn cannot heal wounds. What we know at this point is that he will need to start taking medication daily to jump-start his immune response.
Hank's medical bills are quickly accumulating and we are asking for any assistance the community can provide to help in Hank's recovery. Funds will go directly toward Hank's treatment. We are currently being told his stay could last through the end of the week.
