SD at Turton History in collaboration with the SD program trainees are raising money to benefit Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide.

Therefore, we have decided to do a fundraiser walk on the 23rd of November 2025 from Turton Tower to Darwen Tower

Everyone including SD at Turton friends and family are welcome to join the walk, and a donation or a share will help make an impact

More information about Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide: PAPYRUS is the national charity dedicated to the prevention of young suicide in the UK. Suicide is the biggest killer of young people under the age of 35 in the UK. We believe that everyone can play a role in suicide prevention, and we work towards a society which speaks openly about suicide and has the resources to save young lives.

A close friend of mine Cameron Milton lost his battle to Depression 3 years ago - he would have turned 22 this month. He was a close friend to myself throughout my childhood and teen years. It came as a major shock.

Anyone could be suffering. We all suffer. Don’t suffer in silence.
