I am the sculptor of Frederick Douglass in Central Park NYC.
I lost my sculpture studio four years ago when my landlord doubled my rent.
I share my small rent-stabilized apartment in East Village because I can not afford to pay the rent alone.
The total rent is $ 894 a month and I pay $ 447 a month when I can share my apartment with a roommate
I am a Senior and my Social Security Income is $ 692 a month. I do not have any other income and I get food from the
nearby Senior Center
Last week my landlord finally completed the renovation of my apartment, which lasted for seven months. I lost
my roommate because she was not able to stay during the construction. After I paid the total rent alone for a
few months, I run out of money and I started a Go Fund Me campaign in December 2022.
Thank the generous donations of the Go Fund Me community my fundraising total was $ 2,163
I used all your donations for paying double rent and double utilities without a roommate until I run out of money
in February and I was not able to pay all my utility and rent bills any longer.
January somebody tried to take out money from my checking account (with no success) and I had to print new checks. I did not notice that the last digit was missing from my checking account number and I paid all my rent and utilities, storage, etc. with a check that was all returned unpaid with a penalty fee. It took me a long time to find out what was wrong, get new checks made, and send all the checks again.
When I realized the printing mistake I also realized that I run out of money and this is why I am starting start a new GoFundMe campaign.

I will use your donation to repair my computer which needs repair.
The renovation of my apartment is completed.
It takes 1 or 2 weeks to find a roommate. After I found a roommate I will start to look for
a job immediately.
