Scuds surgery

Scud was taken to the animal hospital today (12/17) after he suddenly fell ill. Chris and I found out that he had internal bleeding due to a tumor on his spleen that had ruptured. They stabilize him and presented us with a heartbreaking decision to either euthanize him or rush him into emergency surgery to remove his spleen. If you’ve met Scud you’d understand why we had no choice but to get him the surgery he needs to live. There are no words we can say to portray the immeasurable love and joy this member of our family brings us. He has saved us in so many ways and now it is our time to return the favor. He is an important piece to our puzzle, he is our guardian angel, our black labs best friend, our shop dog/ front door greeter, and the only family member Chris has in this state. There is no dollar amount, no matter how scary it seems, that we wouldn’t try to pay in order to bring him home even if it’s just for a little while longer. The estimated cost of the surgery is between $6000 to $7500. If we are able to reach our goal and the amount required by the hospital is less than the $7500, the remaining money will be donated to another pet family in need of financial support. Money will come and go but family is family and we can not give up without a fight. It is hard to suck up your pride and ask for help but we are being forced to realize that sometimes it’s ok to ask for help. We are a little in over our heads and we are extremely grateful for every penny that can be donated to help Scud. We understand that this time of year is financially difficult for everyone, so if you can’t donate we ask you to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
