“Scuba” Steve Friedman Fund

Donation protected
The Fells Point community is home to some pretty amazing people. And when one of those people in the community suffers, we all do. Many of you have already heard the horrific news of ‘Scuba’ Stephen Friedman’s brutal incident this past Sunday evening on his way home from Fells Point. He is suffering from multiple injuries, blunt force trauma to his head, broken ribs and spinal cord compression. He is currently recovering at John Hopkins Hospital with a long road of recovery ahead. This means weeks without income and mounting hospital bills. Scuba Steve has a smile brighter than the sun and a sense of humor to keep you laughing for hours. The compassionate members of our neighborhood are here to help support Scuba in his time of need. We ask the community, as well as the rest of the city to please consider donating to this Fells Point Icon and show him how much we love & need him back!

First and foremost, we would like to thank everyone for all the loving and compassionate words of encouragement for Steve in the last few days. Its truly moving to see the positive things this neighborhood is capable of.
With that being said, the ongoing violence that takes place in the city has put us all on high alert. When you hear of how Steve was found, and conclusions were made without all the facts your mind naturally assumes the worst. Steve was found approximately around 2:30am Monday morning badly injured. He was taken to John Hopkins where the medical staff discovered he had three broken ribs, a spinal compression and trauma to his head. The detectives later ruled out foul play and believe that he acquired the injuries due to a fall. He will continue to recover at Hopkins.
We understand that people are concerned about the initial story being incorrect. The gofundme page was started out of nothing but love and concern for a valued member of the community and by no means was it intended to exploit the situation. Steve had no knowledge of this fund being started.
If you wish to be refunded for any donation, please contact the head of the page. They are happy to take care of any and all concerns.
Again, apologize for any misunderstanding.
