Hello! My name is Jacob Vaus, the writer + director of Scuba. Whether this is your first time hearing of the film or you're a previous donor, thank you for taking the time to look through this page.

The idea for Scuba started on Halloween of 2020. I had the first line and just couldn't stop writing. At that time, I didn’t know the extent to which it would progress, or how many would come to help along the way. In the moment, I just liked the story. I didn’t know it’d come to be one of the most challenging experiences of my life, and in turn, one of the most meaningful and rewarding. It’s been a delight to see all the places this road has taken us.

After ten months, the edit for the film is finally complete. The movie's timing is finalized, as well as the scenes' pacing and rhythm. The completed film comes to 82 minutes, and we are scheduled to be fully finished in September. Though picture lock is a huge step, Scuba is far from finished — there is still much work to go in color, sound and score — this is a big step.
