We are the Santa Clara Design/Build/Fly 2026 team (SCU DBF). Here's a little bit about our mission:

THE COMPETITION

Design, Build, Fly is an annual aerospace engineering competition where each year over 100 collegiate student teams from around the world compete to develop the best performing radio-controlled airplane under the imposed constraints. The competition is hosted by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).

BUILDING OUR PRESENCE 

With last year’s Santa Clara DBF team finishing 1st nationally, this year’s team will continue and compound the success. We plan to not only perform at the highest level at the competition, but also to establish a lasting legacy here at Santa Clara. This means solidifying our relationship with the university, getting dedicated on-campus work space for future teams, building out recruitment pipelines, and having enduring partnerships with local companies.

OUR GOALS

The success of last year’s team would not have been possible without the generosity of donations they were able to raise. The same is true for this year’s team. If Santa Clara is going to remain at the top of collegiate Aerospace nationwide two years in a row, we need the support of our community.

Your donation will support the future of Santa Clara’s Aerospace Engineering talent - for this year and for many to come. All sponsors will receive early access to high-caliber new engineering hires, and can cultivate a deeper relationship with one of Silicon Valley’s strongest Engineering schools.
