We are SCRAP Robotics (Student Community of Robotics and Programming), FIRST Robotics Competition Team 10063, a student-led robotics team based in Weymouth, Massachusetts. Re-founded in 2023 with limited resources but a strong vision, our team has grown into a passionate group of students dedicated to engineering, outreach, and expanding access to STEM. Each season, we take on the challenge of designing, building, and programming a fully functional competition robot in just six weeks using CAD, fabrication tools, electronics, and software to bring our ideas to life while developing real-world technical and leadership skills. This is our second competition season, and we are incredibly proud of how much progress we've had in such a short time.
This season has already been historic for our team. At the Minuteman District Event, we were honored to receive the prestigious Engineering Inspiration Award, recognizing our efforts to grow STEM opportunities in our community. This past weekend, we reached another major milestone at the URI District Event, where we won our first-ever competition. Our robot performed at a high level throughout the event, contributing to a strong alliance performance and proving what our team is capable of achieving through hard work and collaboration.
Our team is now working toward qualifying for the New England FIRST District Championships at the Big E from April 15–18. From there, our goal is to once again earn the Engineering Inspiration Award and qualify for the FIRST World Championship in Houston, Texas from April 28–May 2. This opportunity would allow our students to compete on a global stage, connect with teams from around the world, attend workshops, and explore future opportunities in STEM, including internships, careers, and college pathways.
As a newly rebuilt team, we are currently raising funds to make this journey possible. The costs of registration, travel, lodging, and robot transportation are significant, and we want to ensure that every student has the opportunity to participate in this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here are some of our upcoming costs:
- Registration for District Championships: $4,000
- Registration for World Championships: $6,000
- District Championship Hotels: $2,000
- World Championship Hotels: $9,000
- Transportation (combined): $6,000
Any donations will go directly toward competition fees, travel expenses, and the tools and resources needed to sustain and grow our program. We need support soon, as registration and travel deadlines are quickly approaching, and we are committed to making this experience accessible to all of our members.
Thank you so much for supporting SCRAP Robotics and helping us turn opportunity into impact.
SCRAP Robotics, Team 10063
