Recovery Journey

Hi, My name is Jeffrey Teal (AKA TONKA) I am currently creating this GoFundMe fundraiser to assist me in my journey of addiction recovery.

I have spent a majority of my life suffering from addiction.

11 months ago on June 21st of 2023 I decided enough was enough. I checked myself in to a rehab facility in West Palm Beach called The Retreat behavioral health . Which by the way is an amazing program I would recommend it to anybody and everybody who is still sick and suffering and is seeking help. I spent a few months getting to know who I truly am . I then graduated and moved on to the next program which is PHP . Partial hospitalization program which is another intensive program for mental health . I'm currently preparing to enter the next phase which is a structured sober living house here in Delray Beach. I have also entered into a program that will help me obtain my(CAC) certified addiction counselor and Group facilitation certificates.

The total cost of these two certificates is $4,000 and apound completion of the certificate requirements the program will cover half the cost. which leaves me with a total of $2,000. This is not covered by my insurance. The reason I'm trying so hard to attend this facility is simply this.

I've spent my entire life walking around idly and aimlessly with no direction .I had nobody to guid me to the help I desperately needed .I've Been clean now for 11 months and in this 11 months I have found my true purpose which has turned into a new passion. I know I have the ability to make a difference. This program has saved my life and I want to spend the rest of my life giving back and doing what I can to save others. With your help I will have the ability to enter into a program that will help me help others but it will also give me the opportunity to save lives. So I come to you humbly asking to make this passion of mine a reality every little bit helps.
