Scout is having emergency surgery today to remove an unidentified mass from her abdomen that is preventing her from eating, digesting, or moving her bowels. After several days of uncertainty and many (expensive!) diagnostic tests, I have drained my bank account and exhausted my available lines of credit. I can't afford her surgery. I hate asking, but I need your help to save my baby.
Scout's Story

This is Scout - my wild, weird, crazy rescue kitty.

I took Scout in a foster a few years back and she became a permanent member of the family when the rescue group abandoned us. She came from a bad hoarding situation where she was housed with 20 other cats. She was super skittish, at first. She hated everyone and everything. She would yowl constantly and dig under everything checking to see what other animals were hiding around my place.

It took time and patience, yet she gradually learned to trust people. Okay, maybe only certain people long enough to come out and snag a treat before hiding again, but who's perfect? Humans are strange, loud, smelly creatures, despite their delicious treats. HOW DARE I ALLOW THEM INTO HER LAIR? I wouldn't have her any other way.

Guys, I need your help. She will die without this surgery and I can't afford it. Allowing her to die because I can't pay the bill is simply out of the question. I hate asking. But she needs me to.

Scout is barely 5 years old. She and I will get old together. We will move into a big house someday where she will keep bringing me live lizards because I am a stoopid hooman who obviously can't hunt. She will run around so loudly up and down the stairs in the middle of the night that I think there's an intruder. She will see ducks and birds and chirp at them and climb the screen so she can play with them. She will be around for a long, long time - biting my ankles and climbing onto my chest while I'm trying to work. She will be here tomorrow and the next day and the next. I need your help to make that happen. I refuse to let lack of funds be the reason her journey ends prematurely.

Times are tough right now. I feel like crap for asking for help when so many bigger things are happening and the world is falling apart. But, she's MY world and I want her to be around and in good health for many years to come. I'm incredibly grateful to have an awesome community of friends and family who always tell me to ask for help if I need it. So, here's me asking. Help me save Scout. Please, donate and spread the word. Thank you.
