On Saturday, August 16th, our sweet Scout Boy was tragically hit by a vehicle right in front of our home. At first, we were relieved to hear he hadn't sustained any serious injuries, but by early Sunday morning, Scout's condition took a turn for the worse. His mobility declined rapidly, and the veterinarian at Town and Country grew increasingly concerned. After several days of monitoring, we were referred to Virginia Tech for further evaluation. There, Scout underwent a CT scan, MRI, and ultimately surgery to stabilize his pelvis and relieve pressure on a nerve root in his sacrum — all in hopes that he will walk again. He also suffered a fractured disc in his neck, which we are hopeful will heal over time with a brace and rest. This has been an emotional and financial challenge for our family, and we are reaching out for support as Scout begins his long road to recovery.
