Scotty Needs Us...

Donation protected
Some of you may have heard that Scotty is battling some serious health issues.

If you are lucky enough to know Scott, you know the joy he brings all of us. Either with his infectious laugh, his jokes, his outgoing nature, and above all, his friendship. Whether you need someone to try a new restaurant with, go to a show, or seek someone out for advice, Scotty is always the first person to come to mind. Regardless if you have known him 1 week, 20 years or your whole life, he makes impactful connections quickly with people.
His friendship is always heartfelt and never with strings attached. He never asks for anything in return, and as most of you know, he does not like to inconvenience anyone by asking for help, yet he is the first person to help others when asked.

With that in mind, Scotty needs our help now. We hope that you can think back on those times when Scotty was there for you in both good and bad, happy or sad and be there for him now when he needs us most.

Scott has a long road ahead of him. He has been hospitalized on and off since December 2021 for pneumonia, coughing fits, fainting spells, breathing issues, eating issues, and headaches. Most recently, he was admitted on July 26, 2022. Since then, they found the root cause of his medical problems: a chordoma tumor in the cervical spine. This resulted in 2 major surgeries to remove as much of the tumor as possible and a cervical fusion for his spine. He is currently in the ICU and will remain hospitalized for many weeks.

His road to recovery is expected to be a long and arduous journey that Scott will face head-on. In the immediate future, he has difficult obstacles to get past, followed by a comprehensive course of care and treatment plan for many months to come. The simplest things that you and I take for granted and are second nature will be difficult for him in the coming months. In talking to Scott before surgery, he was worried and stressed about many things that may be around the corner, one of which was how this illness would affect him financially. Scott will be off work for the foreseeable future, and rightfully so, to keep his focus on his recovery. However, all of us are familiar with the financial pinch that tugs at us daily. We may not be able to help him through the physical pain he is experiencing, but we may be able to band together and help with the worry and stress of those future financial obligations.

If you are in a position to help Scott now, we ask that you do so, knowing he would do it for you without hesitation. We understand times are hard for all of us now; at times, we may feel stretched to the limit. If that is the case, we do not want to add any pressure on you to contribute. Anything you give is greatly appreciated and will significantly help him. From covering medical costs, paying co-pays, the cost of medication, transportation, groceries, etc., all will be put to use to help Scott.

If you are not in a position to help Scott, we still ask that you do something for him; keep him in your thoughts. In the coming weeks, an encouraging text, call and well wishes from a friend will go a long way.

A platform like this was made to help extraordinary people, and we can't think of many people more special than Scott Hendry.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

GoFundMe asks for us to put a goal. We have adjusted it a few times. The reality is we just want to raise as much as we can for Scott. Thank you for spreading the word, thank you for your generosity.

We love you Scotty!
