Scott's Life-Saving Liver Transplant Journey
Donazione protetta
Support Scott, Betsy & Ruby Behrend Through Their Medical Journey
Earlier this year, Scott began feeling unwell. What started as vague symptoms quickly became a serious health crisis. In March 2025, doctors confirmed that Scott had end-stage liver disease. The cause of his liver disease was identified as a rare genetic condition called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (Alpha-1). The news was sudden and life-altering.
Thanks to the swift action of a dedicated medical team, Scott was added to the Cleveland Clinic’s transplant list in July. Just days later, on August 1st, he received a life-saving liver transplant!
While this moment brings hope, the road ahead is long. Recovery from transplant surgery requires intensive, ongoing care over several months. The financial toll, from hospital bills, to medications, to travel & lodging in Cleveland (they have to relocate there for 4 - 6 weeks) is immense.
Scott, his wife Betsy, and their daughter Ruby need our support. Your donation will help ease the weight of this journey and allow them to focus on healing together.
Please consider contributing and sharing their story. Every gift makes a difference. You can also follow along here for more info.
