Scott Pisani's Healing Journey

Donation protected
You blink and your life is forever changed. Necrotizing Fasciitis - flesh eating bacteria - the stuff of nightmares. Everyone's favorite chef, Scott Pisani, has been battling this monster for nearly three weeks.

The moment Scott entered the ER, the disease had already ravaged his left leg and torn through his body, causing a systemic inflammatory response (sepsis) that resulted in acute renal failure. Whisked away to the operating room and unsure he'd survive, Scott's only concern was the future health and welfare of his loving wife, Chelsea, and their two AMAZING sons, Ethan (10), and Aram (8).

Seven surgeries behind him and several more to go, Scott not only won the fight to save his life, he's done so with remarkable grace, bravery, and gallows humor.
Aram and Ethan spent part of their Father's Day visit bedazzling Dad's (Hershel) Walker with bling.

Owing to his strength, a huge team of gifted and compassionate doctors and nurses, and the love and support of his unbreakable family and vast network of friends and neighbors, Scott now begins the arduous and agonizing process of reconstruction, rehabilitation, and recovery. During that time--estimated to be at least 12 more weeks--Scott will be unable to work, and Chelsea will continue to be by his side as his biggest advocate, most ardent cheerleader, and personal massage therapist.

How the money will be used:

The funds raised will be used to support Scott in any way that is needed to keep his young family and mini farm afloat: living expenses, medical bills, travel costs between Creswell and Portland, and any other unexpected expenses that may arise over the course of Scott's recovery and time out of work. Following his final resconstructive and grafting surgery, Scott's surgeons estimate his complete recovery will require an additional 18-24 months.

Who we are:

We're a group of Scott's friends who are equally as hard-headed and stubborn as he is. As such, when he told us he absolutely, 100%, did not want us to start one of those "online fundraiser things" because he'd "figure out a way to handle it" on his own, we took that as "Yes, go for it, I think that it is a lovely idea and you have my full support."

In addition to your donations, we promise a variety of incentives at the following milestones:

If we raise:

$2,500: Donors receive photos of Scott's leg taken during and after each surgery.

$5,000: Donors receive a souvenir keychain made from a chunk of Scott's necrotic flesh.

$10,000: Spa Day for Scott's mother-in-law, Cindy, who literally dropped everything and moved in to the Pisani home to provide some semblance of normalcy to Ethan and Aram.

$15,000: Michael "Grande" O'Neal will chug a handle of flesh-eating bacteria-infused Sailor Jerry's rum.

$100 BILLION: Ethan and Aram will rock these tattoos:

On behalf of Scott, Chelsea, Ethan, and Aram we thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the outpouring of support, love, and comfort. Please feel free to Like and Share this campaign far and wide!
