Cancer strikes a single father

My name is Brooke and this is a story about my uncle... a generous, kind, fun and easy going, son, brother, uncle, friend and most importantly a single father to 16 year old Austin.  Austin lost his mother at the age of 8 and now his father, Scott, has been diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. At a time when most kids would ask "why me?" and "why my dad?"...Austin said he wanted to find a job so he can "help"...because he said, "my dad will need help with bills..." That was so touching. Well, Austin DID find a job! Scott started radiation on Tuesday, July 5th. He has had 4 treatments already.  He is also enrolled in some clinical trials.  Scott is a non smoker and recently engaged to his long time girlfriend, Kelly.  His oncologist anticipates that he will be out of work for at least a year. Insurance will not cover all of his medical expenses and all while being out of work, this has become daunting for Scott and our entire family.  We are all praying and trying to figure out how to pool our time, money and any other resources...gofundme is one of the resources we are praying will help give Scott some peace of mind financially during this trying time.
