save a life... with a mountain bike

This man loves mountain biking.

And, he loves his 25 year old bike.

Which, best told in the words of Sawyer, "will soon impale him with shards of metal when hitting a rock just right –– it's only a matter of time."

I'll hold off on telling the story about the three of us on the side of the trail for an hour, desperately trying to fix his broken chain, all six of our hands required.

He needs a new mountain bike.

This man's birthday is two days before Christmas!

Which, as a kid must have really sucked.

But, as an adult, can really work in one's favor! Consolidate all gift capacity for the kinds of things a person actually needs!

His sons, Sawyer and Sage, and I are are reaching out on behalf of this man we love – to bring a new, full suspension, sweet ride into his life that will take good care of him for another 25 years.

If you anticipated gifting Scott Mauk anything for his birthday or Christmas, join the cause of saving him from a grusome death from mountain-bike impalement :-)

Gregg's Cycle in Lynnwood is our destination. We have identified and placed a hold on a Trek Remedy 8 that is perfect for his use and needs – it helps that Sage really knows mountain bikes. Even Gregg's Cycle is in on this with us, granting a decent discount to meet the goal – price $2499.99.

We will gift it with an extravagant bow, and a big card with all of the names of contributors [and perhaps try to fake/mock each of your signatures so it looks like we all got together to pick out the bike as a collective, and you each got to sign the card :-) ]

Will you join us?

Gratitude for supporting a fabulous cause, while also being relieved of birthday or Christmas gift dillemmas.

[the *refined* Sawyer quote: "My father's 25 year old bike has the structural integrity of a banana.  And believe it or not I don't want him to die via a metal spike through the chest. Because he has no savings for me to fight over with my brother. And of course I love him. So yeah plz give us money. God bless"
