Scott's Memorial Scholarship

Donation protected
A love for the Russian language started as an elective while pursuing a Chemistry degree at the University of Florida.  After graduating with my Bachelors in Russian, I was accepted into the PhD program for Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Illinois.  After my first year, I was recognized as an outstanding student who would be successful as a university professor.  I am passionate about Russian literature, especially Tolstoy.

To honor my passion, a fund to benefit Graduate Students in Slavic Languages & Literatures at the University of Illinois was established.  An annual award will provide opportunities for graduate students to research the Russian language and culture I loved.

Our family goal is to donate a minimum of $25,000 so the Scott K. Maltby Memorial Fund  will become endowed, which means Scott’s fund will provide support in perpetuity. The yearly scholarship will be based upon the interest earned, allowing monies to be awarded indefinitely.

The gofundme website is not tax deductible, but was created to help Scott's fund attain the $25,000 in order to be endowed.  If you would like to make a tax deductible donation directly to Scott's fund, please utilize the link below.  Once on the website, you will need to scroll down to "other program funds" and enter Scott K. Maltby Fund.
