Scottish Roots. TEXAS Grit! Support Sara in Scotland
Donation protected
Dear Friends - Family - Supporters,
I’m honored and beyond excited to announce that I’ve been given the opportunity to travel to Scotland to compete on behalf of Clan Bennett — representing not just a name, but a proud legacy that runs deep through my roots.
Clan Bennett stems from my maternal grandmother’s lineage in Colfax, Louisiana, the Home of the Louisiana Pecan Festival - cherishing the simple beauties of life. This Scottish blood runs deep, and I’m humbled to represent not only Clan Bennett, but also Texas, the United States, and my Highland Games family on this incredible journey.
My love for throwing began over a decade ago when I competed as an NCAA collegiate thrower. That foundation grew into a deep passion for the Highland Games — a sport rich in culture, community, and grit. Competing in the Highlands is the ultimate full-circle moment: returning to ancestral soil to carry forward a legacy through strength, skill, and spirit.
This fundraiser will help cover travel costs, accommodations, registration, and equipment so I can proudly show up in Scotland, kilt on, ready to represent with everything I’ve got.
If you’ve ever seen me throw, cheered me on, or been part of this wild journey — this is our moment. Every donation helps bring this dream to life, and I’ll be sharing the journey every step of the way.
Thank you for your love, belief, and support.
With gratitude and Highland pride,
Sara Mari
