One of the most beloved musicians in Astoria, Scott Epstein has touched the lives of so many people through his friendship, his beautiful and heartfelt lyrics, his earthy yet uplifting guitar playing and his warm and wonderful spirit. Whether you’ve been fortunate enough to hear Scott perform over the years in his bluesy rock band, Mainline Gypsy, sang alongside him at an open mic, been moved by his original rock opera compositions, or simply have had the pleasure of knowing him in the local social circuit, he has been a formidable musical presence in Astoria for many years and is truly one of the best guys around, as anyone who knows him will attest.
A Hodgkin’s Lymphoma survivor who has been cancer-free for the past decade, our dear friend has recently been diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (Mantle Cell Lymphoma) and needs our help. This rare form of cancer requires extensive chemotherapy treatment as well as a bone marrow transplant. As a community, we are asking you for your assistance during his time of need, as Scott is battling this terrible disease with the humility and grace that is synonymous with his name. All donations will be utilized to subsidize medical and living costs, and the likely probability of being unable to work due to his treatments.
Please join us in fighting the C-word with Scottie and donate today – 100% of the proceeds will go towards offsetting his expenditures as outlined above. Scott has been an incredible friend, musician and person who has given so much of himself in his performances and as a human being – let’s band together now and show him the same love he has bestowed upon us in friendship and song.
Kindly make your donation today through our GoFund Me page – it’s simple, it’s quick, and it will be so appreciated by Scott, his beloved wife and family. We will also be hosting a special fundraiser Saturday night, December 2nd at Astoria’s favorite live music venue and watering hole, the Irish Whiskey Bar, with acts to be announced. Scott will be performing some of his original rock opera inspired by his previous battle with cancer, along with an awesome line-up of your favorite local musicians – you don’t want to miss this very special event!
