Scott Drichel was diagnosed with a Chronic Kidney Disease in October 2021 during an unexpected hospital stay in Bloomington, Indiana. He is beginning dialysis soon and his health is rapidly deteriorating. He is currently on Disability, but his medical costs are mounting up. As a father of three amazing children, he needs a community of support around him. Not only is he looking for a kidney donor but he also needs our support financially, emotionally, and spiritually.
This journey began in October 2021 when a nurse found his blood pressure was 252/150. Doctors were quite alarmed by this and it began the process of tests. It was found that he has a complex polycystic kidney disease. His kidney function is currently around 20 GFR, which means his kidneys are functioning at around 20%, but this is quickly declining. This means he is in Stage 5 Kidney Disease.
Because of this, Scott is unable to walk more than 200 yards without getting out of breath. Sometimes walking to the kitchen is a challenge. He lives with extreme chronic fatigue, much akin to having a weakness you might feel with a terrible flu virus.
Our goal is to raise $30,000 to help cover Scott’s mounting medical bills and living costs. Will you join us?
