Scott Mischel Family Fund
Donation protected
My name is Jennifer Prause and I am Scott's sister-in-law and friend for the past 20+ years. On behalf of the Mischel Family, I would like to thank everyone for all of the well wishes and prayers for Scott and the family. It means so much to him and everyone around him to see all of the love and support. For those of you who may not know his journey, here is his story.
In early 2015 Scott experienced some pain under his arm with a small lump. After a few scans and a biopsy it was deteremined that it was melanoma. Around March 2015, Scott went into the Dr. for more pain he was having but now in his chest. They did some tests and he was given the news that he had Stage IV Metastatic Melanoma. From there there were a few options of treatment for him but not as many as we would have hoped for. For the past 9 months he was undergoing immunotherapy to help treat the cancer. In November, while in one of his treatments he began experiencing stomach pains and they couldn't deteremine the cause. After another round of scans they found a mass in his abdomen. After the holidays during an exploratory surgery the doctors found tumors all throughout his small intestines and gave the news nobody was ready to hear...There was nothing more that could be done. Scott is now at home on hospice care spending his precious moments with his children and family.
So many have expressed wanting to help in some way. So we have set-up this fundraising page up for that reason. If you would like to help, please donate in Scott's honor, to help his children Parker and Tyce as well as his family, transition into a life they never imagined would happen. Besides covering Scott's medical and memorial expenses, your donation will also give his children and family the immediate gift of spending time together to heal as family and to figure out life beyond this immense loss. It will be a long road for all, let's do what we can.
Thank you!
