Keep Scott's NFL Dreams Alive

My name is Scott Arellano and I have 1-2 more years to follow my dreams of playing professional football, whether that be in Canada or the United States. I am a husband and father of two amazing children, Brooklyn(5) and Kyler(2).

For the last few years I have been the punter at Brigham Young University. Through hard work, mental and physical training, and attention to detail, I became one of the top punters in college football. With all my success at the college level, I failed to make it to the NFL. I refuse to let that experience discourage me because I still feel there is more for me to achieve.
Early last year, I trained for months to prepare for NFL try-outs but did not get the opportunities I had hoped for. I tried to move on from football. I graduated from BYU in June 2015 with a degree in Business Management. Since then I have attempted to start my career and focus on supporting my family. I gave it a good shot but felt that I couldn't full-heartedly move forward. I still feel that I have the potential to make it to the next level.
Here is a little bit of my story before going to BYU:
For the last few months I have been so worried about making money that I stopped believing in myself and my abilities. My father reminding me that I have the rest of my life to work, but only a short time to follow my dreams. After getting a figurative "slap upside the head" from a caring relative, I realized I had been feeling sorry for myself and was 'stuck' in a cycle of self-doubt and no confidence. I have since pulled my head up, become re-motivated, and am ready to make at least one more run at punting professionally.
I am currently training 4 hours a day with a part time job to help pay the bills. I am blessed to have a wife that is willing to work extra hours every week to make sure we have what we need. Unfortunatly I don't have the additional resources to give this a legitamate shot. Making it to the next level is hard enough when you have a lot of exposure, but near impossible if you don't get the training or go to all the camps/combines possible. Therefore, I am raising money to pay for 3 main things: 1.) Canadian Football League Try Out. 2.) 2 Kicking and Punting Combines for recent grads and free agents. 3.) Travel Expenses
Here is a breakdown of cost and a timeline for each need:
1.) CFL Try Out:
Website: http://cfltryouts.com/
When: April 1
Where: Carlsbad, CA
Price: $200
2.) Combines/Competitions
a.) Coach Zauner Free Agent Combine
Website: http://coachzaunerslockerroom.com/combines/free-agent-football-kicking-specialists-combine
When: March 13-15
Where: Gilbert, AZ
Price: $600
b.) Kohl's Elite Camp
Website:
http://kohlskicking.com/camps/Pro%20/%20College%20Training
When: July 21-23
Where: Whitewater, WI
Price: $425
3.) Travel Expenses
Carlsbad, CA: Approx. $100
Gilbert, AZ: Approx. $300
Whitewater, WI: Approx. $500
Provo, UT: Approx. $200*
*I will also be attending BYU's ProDay for extra exposure. The event itself will have no cost.
Total needed to give myself an excellent opportunity at achieving my dream is approx. $2325.00
Extra money raised will go towards private lessons with NFL and College Trainers. I haven't been able to put an accurate cost to this as there are different choices and locations. Typically each training session can be between $100 and $200. The travel expenses are also hard to estimate as they are variable. Therefore, anything over the approximated $2325 will get me as many private lessons as possible.
I appreciate the time you have taken to learn more about me and my goals. I thank you for your consideration in helping me achieve them. Go Cougs!!!
