I'm not sure how to do this, but I need some help, so I'll do my best.
My name is Scott Simms, and I'm a US Army Desert Storm Veteran, and currently work as a Guest Service Advocate for Target. You might know me from a Black Friday video I did a few years ago. (it went viral)
Anyway, I've had some unexpected misfortune recently. The night before my birthday, (Jan 21st) I had to go to the hospital because of very bad abdominal pain. It turned out to be a hernia I've had for a while, had become strangulated, and needed to be operated on right away. I spent my 49th birthday in surgery. (instead of blowing out candles, I blew on a bowl of soup because I was on a soft diet for two weeks after) :P
All went well, and I'm on the road to recovery, but now I have a mountain of debt because my insurance covered almost none of it. I have other avenues I hope to get help with this, but I'm desperately trying to find any help I can get.
My wife and I both work part-time, and while under normal circumstances, we usually can get by, this expense is far beyond our means. I was hoping to have myself in a better position prior to having this surgery (which is why I put it off) but fate had other plans.
My wife has been so supportive of me through all of this. She is an amazing woman who goes out of her way for everyone, many times doing more than she should. This unexpected expense has really taken a toll on her, as much as it has for me.
Even if I can't reach this goal (which is, I admit, quite a lot) every bit will help.
Thank you so much in advance.
Here's the video I was in. (unfortunately, Hollywood never called) lol
