In Loving Memory of Scott Wesolaski

My name is Tristan Crookston, and I’ve been fortunate to know Scott Wesolaski (“Scotty”) and his family for over two decades. I first met Scotty and his parents through my brother Curran, who worked alongside Scotty and his father, Dan, and even lived with their family for a time. Over the years, Scotty became a close friend and a huge help to me and my moving company—always there when I needed him, day or night, keeping our trucks running and lending a hand without hesitation. That’s who Scotty was: loyal, dependable, and selfless.

 ️ A Life of Service, Love, and Simplicity

 On Sunday, October 12, 2025, Scotty was riding his pride and joy—a Suzuki GSXR 750, a motorcycle he was especially proud of because he paid for it in full and could truly call it his own. He often said that being on his bike made him feel alive—free, peaceful, and centered. Tragically, while on his way to visit his father in Pahrump, Scotty was involved in a fatal collision that took his life instantly.  

❤️ A Son Devoted to His Parents

 If you knew Scotty, you know that his life revolved around his family. From a young age, he was dedicated to his parents and their home-based business. While many of us were going out, Scotty was faithfully helping his father in the workshop or caring for his mother, who was wheelchair-bound for years. He would often turn down invitations to hang out, saying something like, “I need to be home when my parents get back so I can help unload groceries and get Mom settled.” It wasn’t duty—it was love. Serving his parents brought him joy. After his mother’s passing eight years ago, life became even harder for Scotty and Dan. They lost not only a wife and mother but the person who kept their home and business running smoothly. Scotty stepped up without hesitation, working alongside his father to keep everything afloat. Their workshop was more than a job—it was the heartbeat of their home. All Scotty ever wanted was for his father to have an easier life. Dan later moved to Pahrump, preparing a home where the two of them could continue their work side by side. Scotty was planning to follow, ready to help his dad rebuild the next chapter. Sadly, he never got the chance.

 ‍A Father’s Strength and a Community’s Call

Scotty leaves behind his father, Dan Wesolaski, and his 6-year-old daughter, Lala, who was the light of his life. He adored her deeply and often talked about wanting to be the kind of man she could be proud of. Though she’s far too young to understand such a loss, her questions about “why her daddy had to go to heaven” are a heartbreaking reminder of how far his love reached — and how many hearts his absence now touches.
 
Scott’s father now faces the unimaginable heartbreak of burying his only child. Dan is a humble, hardworking man admired by everyone who knows him. Having lost his wife eight years ago and now his son, he continues to face life with quiet strength and dignity—despite serious financial hardship and the struggle to keep his small business afloat. Right now, Dan needs our help. In Nevada, families must hire a mortuary service even to see their loved one, and there are expenses at every step—transportation, burial arrangements, and the upcoming celebration of life. Dan is also trying to cover basic living and business costs while navigating the endless logistics that come after a loss like this.

Honoring Scotty’s Heart

Scotty had a special gift with children. His nieces and cousins adored him because he met them at their level—playing memory games, telling jokes, and making sure no one ever felt left out. He had a playful, teasing sense of humor and a laugh that could fill a room. Those who knew him remember his compassion, his quick wit, and a smile like the arc of a rainbow—bright, colorful, and unforgettable. While this fundraiser is created in Scotty’s name, it’s truly to support his father, because that’s what Scotty would have wanted. Scotty often spoke about his dad—the person he respected most—and his greatest wish was simply to see his father cared for and okay. Every contribution—whether $5, $50, or whatever’s on your heart—goes directly toward funeral costs, the celebration of life, and helping Dan stay on his feet through this unimaginable time.
