I’m posting this to help a family friend in need...Please consider helping whatever the amount.
Hi my name is Kayleigh Partlow. My father Scott Turney was in a major car accident in the early morning of December 2nd 2018. He was driving home on Interstate 5 going North near Shoreline WA. For reasons still unknown, he ran into the guardrail and then was hit from behind by another vehicle. The police officer who came to the scene mentioned something about two vehicles in a race, which may be the reason he swerved into the guardrail, but we still don’t know the exact details of the police report. The accident is under investigation and the WSP will not release any other information at this point.
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in downtown Seattle and has been in the ICU/Trauma unit since then. They had to put him in an induced coma because he was in too much pain and they also intubated him because he can’t breath sufficiently on his own. His spine is fractured and he has several broken ribs, mostly on his right side. They are trying to figure out a way for him to breathe on his own and to wake him without being in too much pain. He has a long recovery ahead. The man who towed my father’s car said that it’s a miracle he survived the crash because his car was so squished “it could fit inside of a bag.”
My father has two daughters, including myself, and my little sister BreeAnna (16 years old), and a wife named Maria (my step-mom).
Maria, BreeAnna and I have been at the hospital with him everyday. Maria has taken time off work to be with him and will be taking as much time off as she needs for his recovery. They are going to have a lot of medical bills and lost income. We have no idea how long it’ll be until my dad is able to work again, but we suspect it’ll be a long time, which means they won’t be earning half of the money they need. If you find it in your heart to give anything we would appreciate it more than you know.
