Scott Spezial Memorial
Please help us in honoring the life and legacy of Coach Scott Spezial. For over 20 years, Spez—as he was affectionately known—was the Head Coach, leader and biggest fan of the Washington Township Falcon Football program. Spez played an integral part in the lives of hundreds of young men and women—instilling in us not only his knowledge of the game, but what it meant to work hard and treat those around with you respect. Although Spez is no longer with us, his impact continues to reach deep into the Falcon community through his two beautiful children and the life lessons he left with all of us that are now being passed on to the next generation.
In Spez’ honor, the Falcon Community is building a memorial showcase in the “Falcons Nest” at Memorial Field. The memorial showcase will be a tribute to Spez, displaying with pride his hard work and dedication to the Falcon program through trophies, pictures, game balls, helmets, etc. Consider this the Canton Corner of the Falcons Nest—an honor that only Spez is worthy to kick off.
Jeff Berger has generously donated his skills as a carpenter to build a beautiful showcase, and Coach Chris Santise has spearheaded gathering the items for display.
The money raised will go towards the building materials for the showcase, an upgrade to the scoreboard (which will include Scott’s name). Any funds in excess of those needed will be put towards a charity donation in Spez’ name. If a monetary contribution is not in the cards, please consider donating your time by contacting Ralph DeBernardo, Jesse Berger or Chris Psihoules.
