My name is Brittney Salisbury, I am the daughter of Scott Salisbury.  For those of you who know and don’t know my father he is a rig welder and has been for the last 30+ years.  I have had the privilege to work with him the past 4 years and I have never seen anyone with so much love and passion at their job.  He enjoys welding and teaching others the trade. Unfortunately on November 14th he was traveling to Rifle, Co when he fell asleep and wrecked his welding truck. He was ejected and thrown 50 feet from where the accident occurred. He was in ICU for 5 days sustaining severe road rash over his stomach and the top of his head. His C7 vertebra broke and his C5 and C6 vertebras had been fractured, causing his C7 nerve root to be sliced almost in half.  The C7 nerve root branches off from the spinal cord and travels down the arm to enable; straightening the elbow, lifting the wrist, elongating the finger to a stretch out position and the movement to the triceps muscle in the back of upper arm. Tragically this has happened to his right arm which is his welding arm, this could potentially end his career. He will need to keep up with physical therapy to try and strengthen his other muscles to help with the movement of his arm. He will need an in home health aide to visit daily to continue with his treatments.  With the oil dropping my father has been in and out of work constantly and unable to keep a steady income or health insurance. He is currently in the rehabilitation center of the hospital that is costing $1400 a day! The expense of the wreckage clean up, the ICU and surgery bill is too much for us his family to take care of. My father being a stubborn and hardworking man would shake his head at me to ask for any help but we as a family need all the help and prayers we can ask for.  We thank you for any donation you are able to do and greatly appreciate the help.
