Scott Poole

Hi my name is Brianna Barnes and I am setting up this account with the permission of Kristin Poole, Scott’s wife.

Scott passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 24th, 2023 in their home. He had contracted Covid in December and recovered without serious problems. Unfortunately, a short month later, his lungs filled with fluid and put pressure on his heart. This led to a sudden cardiac event that took his life.

Scott lived a very full life and was a devoted husband and father. He and Kristin were married for nearly 28 years and had three kids, Nelson, Garrett and Lauren. Nelson recently graduated with a Film Degree from CSUN, Garrett is currently pursuing his degree at CSUN, and Lauren is a junior in high school. Scott was fiercely proud of his children and all their accomplishments.

Like most of us, Scott never imagined that he wouldn’t be here to see their many milestones, weddings, grandchildren, family vacations. Scott worked a crazy amount of hours as a Location Manager in the film and television industry. He was a proud member of the Teamsters Union, Local 399 for over 27 years. Everything he did was with his family in mind.

Unfortunately, Scott was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes about 24 years ago. He adjusted his lifestyle and constantly monitored the condition. However, because of this condition it was very difficult to procure sufficient Life Insurance. The company continued to lessen his payout as he aged. Scott instead made many investments to plan for the future. Never did he imagine leaving his family at age 51.

For those of us who knew and loved Scott, we know that he would do anything to help out a friend. Scott never met a stranger. He had a quick wit and a generous soul. He would be the first one to help a friend move, help get them a job, loan money, whatever was needed.

Scott will be missed for so many reasons. In big and small ways, he left us so many memories.

We are setting up this fund to help Kristin and the kids get squared away and start what will be a very different life moving forward.

There will be a Celebration of Life held this summer.
