Scott and Heather are the most loving, generous people. They have always put others first, including our country. Scott is a captain in the Merchant Marines, as well as a professor at the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. They have always been there to support anyone in need and have raised their two beautiful children, Alyse and Connor, to do the same.

It saddens us to share the devastating news of the passing of Scott at the young age of 49. For over a year, Scott fought a battle against cancer, always remaining strong for Heather and his kids. We promised him we would always take care and look after Heather and the kids, as that was his constant worry. He never wanted to be anyone’s burden.

During this already unimaginably difficult time, Heather also faced an additional stress of being laid off. We were all in awe of Heather’s persistence and character even in the midst of all this stress. She continued to be an incredible wife to Scott and his rock until the very end. Heather also continued to always think of her kids and be their constant source of support and love while their world is changing.

We would be so appreciative if you were willing to contribute to the Nicholas family during this time. Heather, Connor, and Alyse would be grateful for your consideration and support while they navigate through these tough waters. As promised to Scott, we will do everything in our power to look after Connor and Alyse, and contributing to financial security for their future is the least we can do.
