My loving husband of 32 years and the devoted father of two and Papa to three died suddenly on Monday before Christmas, leaving our family devastated. After suffering a heart attack and bypass surgery this past summer, we felt that he was on the way to an amazing recovery that would at least restore him to the point of being able to watch his young grandchildren grow up.
Scott fought for more than seven years to stay off of disability, doing smaller jobs until he could return to his career as a driver. He wanted to be the one to take care of his family, not the government. But that day was never to come as his health continued to deteriorate. My brave husband never let on to the pain and challenges he endured daily, those around him only saw that sweet smile that was always on his face.
We've struggled over the past years just trying to keep up with bills and medical expenses, never having any idea of what the high cost of dying would be or how soon that would come.
Now I must trust in God and humble myself to request the help of friends, family and those who feel so moved to help give my husband a simple but dignified funeral and burial. Thank you for however you choose to help.
May God bless you.
