Scott needs our help as he's being displaced.

In March of 2021, Scott contracted COVID while working at Universal Orlando Resort. Two days later he was rushed to the ER and put on life support because the virus damaged his nervous system and lungs causing his left lung to completely collapse while also fighting COVID pneumonia.

After 6 months of being air lifted and transferred to many hospitals and rehab facilities, he was finally released to go home but still has many months of PT/OT ahead of him. He even had to learn to walk again.

He's now been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis and uses oxygen around the clock. The nerve damage to his legs caused neuropathy which makes it difficult for him to walk or go up and down the three flights of steps at his current apartment.

Scott has basically been homebound for the last 2 years and is receiving a very limited disability check as well as food stamps to survive. The past medical bills are only making things worse. He's only had a couple visitors in the past couple of years so he's sadly been fighting crippling depression and anxiety.

This past August, Scott received a notice from his apartment leasing office stating that they would not be able to renew his lease in December (after 14 years) and he would either need to move to a more expensive unit or find alternate accommodations.

Scott has roommates who will be moving with him but he needs to come up with a deposit, hire movers for the large furniture, hire people to help him with packing and organizing lots of items in his storage, and also rent a truck. Sadly, many of Scott's possessions in storage have been damaged by water and mold and need to be discarded and hopefully replaced.

Scott is a dear friend to all of us - the kind of man who'd give us the shirt off his own back even though he doesn't have a replacement. Anything we can raise for Scott would be much appreciated.

Since March of 2021, not only has he experienced personal loss of his parents and dealing with his poor health, COVID has completely destroyed his life and his ability to earn a living in the short term.

Scott is in a very difficult position with his health, recovery, finances, and now having to find a new place to live. He emergently needs our help to get through the next several months as he continues to heal, find a new home, and move forward with his life.
