Earlier this winter, Scott was playing winter league and landed wrong, tearing his ACL. It was a fluke accident that no one could have predicted, but I remember it being a cut for a score and perfectly timed one at that. Scott is due for surgery next week, and hopefully, after a round of rehab, he will be back on the field soon.
This fundraiser was set up to help Scott with the financial burden. Scott has health insurance but with a high deductible. He is exploring every option to make it cheaper, but with the deductible and coinsurance of the surgery and rehab, living expenses, and inability to work, bills are accumulating quickly. Due to his circumstances, it is becoming quite a financial burden.
Scott is such an extraordinary man and a wonderful part of our community. He is always the most positive player on the field and shares his love of the sport with people of all abilities. Scott can fit in playing high-level club or low-key casual play, although he can’t help but throw in the occasional epic layout for a slightly overthrown disc. He has also spent years volunteering as a high school coach to grow the sport. Scott is also currently working on an associate's degree at SLCC. He is an amazing friend if you only know him through Ultimate. He is fiercely loyal and always does whatever he can to ensure everyone has a great time. This community would be absolutely blessed to have more people like Scott Grimm.
This fundraiser will be used to cover his medical expenses and living expenses until he can walk again. It is uncertain how much everything will cost, but the amount was set to cover his $4500 deductible and some coinsurance.
Any amount that you could spare would be tremendously appreciated. Please also feel free to share this with anyone else. Scott is a great guy, and it would be awesome to get him back out there living life.
