Honoring Scott Mattson: Support His Family
Scott "Big Daddy" Mattson, 63, of Linwood, Minnesota.
Passed at his home on August 10, 2025.
He was born on November 13, 1961, in Fridley, Minnesota, to George and Jean Mattson. Scott Grew up in New Brighton, where he graduated from Irondale High School, followed by his two younger brothers, Greg and Jon.
Scott spent most of his working career as a salesmen in the metal industry, most recently working as a regional sales manager for the Midwest. His dedication, knowledge of the industry, and uncanny ability to connect with people were just a few of the qualities he was known for. Undeniable love, care, and pride was carried on through every aspect of his life.
He was a steadfast rollerblader, lawn care junkie, and Master tinkerer. From a young age, Scott loved sports, and that passion never faded. He coached hockey, attended countless soccer games, played softball, and faithfully supported every Minnesota sports team - especially the Vikings and the Wild - never losing hope of seeing a single championship.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy; his son, Kyle; his son, Dylan (Leah), and grandson Henry; his daughter, Peyton (Terrance), and grandson Harrison; as well as his extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, George, and his mother, Jean.
Scott's laughter and love filled every room and he will be missed by all who knew him.
