Scott has been living at a nursing home in Batavia, IL for about 5 years now. He suffers from dementia but was very recently diagnosed with an inoperable tumor on his esophagus. We have been overwhelmed with the outpouring of love from old friends, family and coworkers over the past few days. My mom, Rona, has been his constant caretaker and companion during his time in the nursing home. She loved taking him out to eat down the street at The Country House and never tired of his continuous questions or forgetfulness. Even though his memory wasn’t all there, Scott was unfailingly happy, resilient and as always, funny. Scott is now on hospice care and resting comfortably until he passes. While he did have a little money saved, we wanted to set up this fund for any expenses he can’t cover so that my mom doesn’t have to. Any remaining funds will be donated back to the Batavia Rehabilitation Center.
**I know a lot of you are wondering if you’re able to visit or speak with Scott - because of COVID, unfortunately, no one is allowed to see him in person. But we are trying to arrange something with his nurses to allow for some sort of phone communication. I will post an update with this info. as soon as possible.
**We would also love for you to share any photos or stories of Scott on this page to share with him and his loved ones if you are able!
