Scott Lewis’ Car Accident Fundraiser

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Scott Lewis and I am a 20 year old college student attending Husson University from South Portland, Maine. Friday, July 2nd, I got in a severe car accident that resulted in three broken vertebrae and a fractured sternum. Going up to my camp for July 4th weekend, I dozed off at the wheel. Next thing I knew I’m on the side of the road going 55mph with a telephone pole straight ahead. I turned my steering wheel to the left as quick as I could causing my car to hit the passenger side. After contact, the telephone pole broke in half and landed on the roof of my car inches from my head. I want my story to reach as many people as possible as everyone in their lifetime has driven tired and has had close calls. Bottom line and the biggest lesson I learned is to never drive tired. If you need to pull over to take a nap do it. An extra 30 minutes to your road trip is not nearly as big as almost losing your life. Luckily, I was the only one in the car, and didn’t cause any other cars to be in the accident. Now, typically I don’t like asking for money, but I am unable to work for quite some time and I live with my brother and single mother. The money that is donated to my fundraiser will be going to groceries and buying a new car in the future. Everyone is out on this Earth for a reason and God loves you. Don’t take life for granted and live it to the fullest. Thank you for reading my story and I hope I reached someone out there to be smarter at the wheel when tired.
