Scott Lane's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
As many of you know, Scott Lane has been in the hospital for months and the bills are piling up. Scott will be leaving rehab and transitioning home and he will require 24hour care. Scott was the main provider for his family and now with his wife, Barb, taking an unpaid leave to care for him, there is no income. We are asking for everyone’s help and prayers for his health and financial crisis.
For those of you that don’t know Scott, he is from Bakerton, PA. He is a fantastic dad, an awesome brother, and a loving husband. He especially loved being pap to all his wonderful grandbabies. He is one of those lovable, comical, nice guys and is such fun to hang out with. Scott has been a hardworking man and our “help me guy'' his entire life. He was deemed “Scotty Bull” by family and friends, not only because of his physical strength, but his bullheadedness. We believe that stubborn personality, brute strength, combined with the grace of God is why he is still with us.
On November 8, 2021 Scott’s life took a tragic turn, he had to fight for his life and is still fighting hard to get back to himself. On that morning, 911 was called and he was rushed to the local hospital non responsive. He was airlifted to Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, where it was found that he had two brain aneurysm ruptures on his carotid artery. He suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage as a result. He was immediately given a bedside life saving surgery, his first surgery of the day. Later that evening, Scott went through a second surgery, and honestly the outcome seemed bleak. The surgeon came into the waiting room after the surgery to let us know Scott had made it through surgery and was in recovery. It was a miracle! Scott was blessed that day, his surgeon used a repair technique that he hadn’t performed under such circumstances. Making it through surgery was the first milestone. No one could predict if or when he’d recover. Scott remained in the intensive care unit for many weeks. He then transferred to Mercy Rehabilitations Facility, in Pittsburgh, from where he will be moving home under 24hour care. Our hearts are full of hope; the journey will be long for him and there have been and will be more struggles. It's an unpredictable road and where it will take us, we do not know. We believe in the power of prayer and we thank God for answering so many to date. We ask that you help our family get through this difficult time.
If you are interested in reaching out to Scott by mail, please send any cards/letters to P.O. Box 255, Elmora, PA 15737.
