Hello Friends and Family of Scott Hazen,

Many of you have heard that my brother Scott was diagnosed last month (May 2023) with Stage 4 Metastatic Rectal Cancer. This has been an incredibly devastating diagnosis to grasp for him, his wife Kathy and their son’s, Brandon and Connor as well as our whole family. For those that know Scott well, he is never at a loss for words and always has great stories to share. While this diagnosis did impact his gregarious spirit as he tried to comprehend the diagnosis and deal with the many emotions that follow, he quickly turned that around and constantly has the Doctors and Nurses laughing and very happy to see his positive outlook.

Scott will need to go through several months of chemotherapy with the hopes of shrinking the tumors (4cm primary tumor in the Rectum and 10 cm secondary tumor in the Liver) followed by radiation then two different surgeries to remove the tumors. This will then be followed by more chemotherapy. Despite the advanced stage of his cancer, we are hopeful that with new medical discoveries and treatments, that Scott can and will fight this cancer. Scott remains strong, positive, and ready to battle this.

Many of you have asked how you can help. We are creating this GoFundMe page to help support them with the medical expenses. As you can imagine, the medical expenses are and will continue to be enormous. Any donation big or small will greatly help them manage the financial burdens that will accompany Scott’s cancer battle and will be greatly appreciated!
