To say that my dear friend Scott Hammond has been a big part of my life for the past 15 years is an understatement. His love and compassion shown to me and thousands of others dominates his joyous personality, and anyone who knows him wouldn’t hesitate to say the same. This beloved man that so many of us are so fond of has touched the hearts and souls of thousands of people in his hometown, as well as those across the country with his undying compassion for the people he came in contact with and the life or business challenges they have faced. He wears his heart on his sleeve and his emotional lovable personality is self evident in the video made by friends from Aquascape Inc. above.
I have always known Scott as a talented pond and water feature designer/builder from Ellensburg WA., who traveled the country as well as abroad to create beautiful works of art with friends of his in the pond industry. His willingness to travel far and wide and put his own business and family time aside regardless of financial gain or loss, to help other contractors complete projects large and small, gave them the chance to grow as businesses with the help and guidence of this talented generous man.
The life that is Scott Hammond in Ellensburg WA. that I have only heard stories from friends and family about, is one that I hope the people of his hometown can tell you about here, and remember the best. His dedication to his family, church, and serving his community as a fireman and paramedic before starting his pond building career is one filled with stories of people’s highest highs, as well as the tragic lows that comes along with the job of being an emergency responder. The things he experienced as a fireman and paramedic would weigh heavily on the strongest hearts and souls among us, I know for a fact they did weigh on him without a complaint heard or spoken by him. But his cool calm and collected demeanor, calm voice and actions for accident victims, or anyone he had contact with during their time of tragic circumstance is surely remembered, appreciated and loved whole heartedly for the rest of their lives.
One of his favorite sayings is “God Is A Funny Guy”, and this time God’s humor decided to throw Scott and his family a wicked curveball when he was diagnosed with cancer. His first bout was fought hard and beat with surgery and treatments, and we all thought that he was victorious in his fight. But... This time it came back with a relentless fast moving cancer that does not come with any positive long term outlook.
Time is never on your side when your dealing with this ugly illness, and unfortunately there are some things that are not currently in place for his family that we all wish were in place for a number of expenses that are currently weighing heavily on his wife and family members. This is why we have set up this account, and hope you can find it in your hearts to help with a small donation to help ease some of the financial strain staring them down currently. If for any reason a donation is from you is out of reach, please help by sharing his story with family and friends to help spread the word about this man’s love of life, family, and friends so that he may touch many more hearts along the way to add to his legacy as our dear friend, husband, father, grandfather, mentor, & son of God
.
Thank You, (A forever grateful, “Brother From Another Mother”)
