Dear friends of Scott,
We have good news to share. Scott is making impressive strides in his recovery. Please read the update he wrote below, and check out the photos. With your continued support we will be able to reach our goal of providing the needed housing and medical rehab that is needed over the coming months; we are also increasing our goal as this is a marathon and we are at about the halfway point.
....Note from Scott...
Since leaving the Foley center in Boone NC it feels like my life has been completely transformed for the better. I first attended the optimum health Institue for three weeks and was deeply purified, did yoga every day, and juice fasted half of each week.
Next, I spent 2 weeks at the Pritkin Longevity Center in Miami which was chosen for its doctors and medically supervised program with 50 yrs of success in the area of stroke recovery. There was no other program in the USA that has all the modalities and doctors in-house that I needed. There I did intensive cardio and weight training, and diet education.
As a result of these centers' detox and rehab programs I have lost about 50 lbs. improved all my lab numbers, and had my meds reduced substantially. The night I checked out I led a beautiful maha satsang for the Florida AOL group.
Now comes the long haul of putting all that I've learned together: the tools to have a healthy life going forward and a chance to avoid future strokes.
I'm eating well, working out regularly with a trainer to improve cardio and neurological health, and feeling fantastic, a renewal of life.
That's a small update on what's been going on for me with everyone's help. The next phase is the most challenging as I have to implement the programs I've been thru with more medical and stroke recovery appointments while staying on a strict diet and exercise regimen.
Thanks to team Scottie and everyone who has supported this endeavor. Miracles happen every day. I am grateful for your support, and for the chance it has afforded me to take back my life.

Scott Hague, the first Silence course teacher in the USA and a magnificent soul, needs our help now.
Many of us know Scott as the tender-hearted soul, extraordinary artist, and humble teacher who brings forth knowledge from his deep well of wisdom. Scottie was one of the very first Art of Living Silence Course teachers in North America, and in the early days of AOL he traveled with Gurudev to countries throughout Europe and Asia filming Gurudev’s talks and being his assistant. Some of us remember in the early 1990’s Scott being the sherpa and carrying the needed heavy video equipment single-handedly from Asia to Europe and the Americas.
Six months ago Scottie suffered a stroke and has not been able to receive the rehab he needs to bring back his full functioning. As the window for regaining function post-stroke is only 12-14 months, we need to pull out all the stops starting immediately to get him a comprehensive rehab and treatment plan created by an integrative medicine physician to enable his recovery. His stroke recovery plan includes medical doctor expenses for integrative neurology, acupuncture, Ayurveda panchakarma, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, aggressive cardiovascular exercise requiring a coach, organic food and an anti-inflammatory diet—as well as appropriate housing.
Scott has already made progress since his stroke with his sense of humor carrying him through as always. Around his birthday in December (see photo of his birthday dinner below), he reminded some of us of a funny event back in 1990 while he was staying at the old Bangalore ashram…
The ashram was hosting twelve swamis and Gurudev asked Scottie and Phillip Frasier to entertain them. Phillip taught Scott how to wear a dhoti the night before they were to meet them. After leading morning meditation at the ashram, Scott went to meet the swamis. They were all very serious and sitting in a circle around Gurudev at the top of a hill. Scott ran up to meet them, and as he got to the circle, the circle opened for him… and as soon as Scott joined them in the circle, his dhoti fell down. They all broke out in hilarious laughter, and Gurudev was laughing the loudest. Then Gurudev thanked Scott for getting them to laugh and Scottie replied, “Well gee, my pleasure to serve, I guess.”
This story shows one side of Scott – the humble side, and always ready to serve no matter what! I’m sure there was a time when he has been there for each of us with a compassionate ear and wise, healing words, and a comforting presence. Or even painting an incredible image of a devata or a touching birthday card.
Now he needs our support.
The estimated cost for Scott’s recovery plan not covered by insurance is $75,000. We are turning to you, his friends, for this support. Our goal is to raise a minimum of the first $15,000 within a week to start the momentum and get Scott situated in appropriate housing.
With gratitude in advance for your help in bringing dear Scottie back to a vibrant life,
The We Love Scottie Committee
