Scott Golder, for his wife Lizanne & son Rhys
Donation protected
Thank you for taking the time to read about Scott’s story and any donation you can provide to his wife, Lizanne and son Rhys, as they enter this challenging time following his significant loss.
Scott, a 46-year-old Army Veteran and VA nurse, passed away Monday, October 10th, after a two-year-long battle with an aggressive case of Multiple Myeloma. Though often treatable, Scott’s cancer was unusually aggressive, unable to respond to several treatments, including 3 Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation (HCT) transplants, radiation, and numerous rounds of various types of chemotherapy over the past 2 years. He could not achieve remission and continued a journey through any clinical trial treatments available, including a bone marrow transplant this summer.
The demands of this disease and its treatment made it impossible to work while he spent most of his time in the hospital, with repeated months-long periods of being blood transfusion dependent. As the primary breadwinner and without work for the last two years, expenses grew with no relief. Unfortunately, Scott did not have a life insurance policy and was set to put one in place right before he was diagnosed.
Along with processing their loss and heartbreak, especially for Lizanne’s little boy, their tragedy is also compounded by almost no income and insurmountable debt from the last two years. As a mother dealing with all of this alone, many can imagine how this challenge is multiplied when struggling to make ends meet and trying to provide the necessities for herself and Rhys. Your donation will help support their family during their most heartbreaking time.
Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and compassion.
