This is from my friend Scott Esposito. He does not have a computer to post, and I am acting on his behalf.

Hello all,

My name is Scott Esposito. I will immediately get to the point. I have had a difficult last six years, and I am humbly asking for your financial support.

My life was going very well in 2014- I had a nice home with my loving wife and I was raising our three kids.  However, my life changed in October 2014 when my daughter Sarah was diagnosed with glioblastoma. Sarah was known in the Danbury-Bethel community for her walking- sometimes 15 miles a day- and had just begun attending Western Connecticut State University on a nursing scholarship when we learned of her diagnosis. Three months later, in January 2015 she died.  I grieve for her every day.

In November 2016 my son Tyler (from a previous relationship) was walking from a University of Georgia football game when a drunk driver came speeding towards him and his girlfriend.  Tyler was able to push his girlfriend to safety but was hit by the drunk driver and was killed.  To date no arrests have been made.

The next year I was diagnosed with bone cancer and underwent surgery and chemotherapy.  Unfortunately, my wife and I could not keep up with our mortgage payments and our home was foreclosed in 2017.

The stress of these events really impacted my wife and me.  We were both depressed. Things only got worse for me when my wife unexpectedly passed away in May 2018, leaving only myself to raise our youngest son Ryan.

Later in 2018 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which led to another round of chemotherapy.  During this time I incurred the additional burden of tending to my mother, as she was suffering from the early stages of dementia.  She moved in with us but sadly passed on in 2019, after only a few months in our apartment.

At the end of 2019 I was once again diagnosed with prostate cancer and underwent another round of chemotherapy.  I was declared cancer-free in early 2020.  However, last month I was diagnosed again with cancer.  My chemotherapy begins shortly- I have been through over 60 chemotherapy treatments, and I now have to face another 5-10 rounds with this recent diagnosis.

Since 2017 I have been struggling to make ends meet.  I have depleted all my savings.  I am disabled with back and neck issues and have not been able to secure permanent employment.  I live on social security and disability checks, month-to-month.  I visit food banks and lean on social services to ensure my son has some decent meals.  Yet I have persevered up until recently.  I am now behind four months in my rent, my car has been repossessed, it needs new tires and I have other debts.  If I do not raise sufficient funds by the end of November, my landlord will evict me, and my 14 year old son Ryan will be sent to social services.  Neither one of us can imagine being separated- we have been through so much together, and all we have is each other.

In order to get back on my feet I need to settle the back rent, pay all my debts, purchase some groceries and put aside a little money in case of emergencies.  I am looking to raise $8,500 before the end of November to allow me to at least tread water and repay my debts, especially my back rent.  I thank you in advance for your consideration and kindness.

With sincere gratitude,

Scott Esposito
