Hi my name is Jane Harris and my friend of over 25 years, Scott Chun is in need of financial help.
On May 1st, Scott was admitted into the hospital for emergency surgery for an aorta dissection and a coronary artery was blocked as well. He was in surgery for 9 1/2 hours and although he made it through the surgery and the crucial first 72 hours afterwards, his pancreas was affected badly. Scott had a lot of pain and swelling in his abdomen and further testing showed that Scott has pancreatitis. Scott’s brother Jeffrey has been with him day and night advocating and making every medical decision for Scott. Instead of things getting better his health has declined where he went into respiratory failure and was put on a ventilator and sedated for over a week. He had to have a tracheotomy done and a pacemaker put in because his heart rate was all over the place. Tonight a decision was made between Scott’s surgeon, Scott and his brother to have him moved to Columbia Presbyterian Pancreases center. Scott is going to needing surgery on his pancreas to have a stint put in. It’s a very risky surgery, but this is the best option for him in order for him to get any better. I started this page in hopes to raise money for Scott and his brother to help with the medical as well as the expense of traveling in and out of Manhattan. Jeffrey will not leave his brothers side, and although money is not the solution to this problem, I feel it will help to take the burden of all the incurred expenses as well as the future ones.
