“The world would be a better place if there were more people like Scott in it.” Having known Scott for over 30 years, I can say that I have heard this phrase quite a few times when someone is describing him.
It is difficult to put into words how special Scott Butler is, but I’d like to try, so that when I get to the part where I ask for you to donate, you dig deep *wink* *wink*.
Scott lives near San Antonio, Texas with his wife Jenny, and 4 children; Jason (18), Katie (15), Matthew (11), and Isabella (5). Scott works in the insurance/construction industry as a project manager (but anyone who works with him knows he does a lot more than just manage projects). Scott is caring and supportive of his customers, co-workers, friends, and family. He has a knack for finding something in common with everyone he meets and can have an engaging conversation in just about any topic. (This isn’t hyperbole - I’ve heard him talk to customers about anything from the battle of Thermopylae to the Yankees 1956 season to King Solomon’s reign). He is chock full of love, positivity, loyalty, kindness, and even though his kids won’t admit it, he is pretty funny too.
So here comes the part where he needs your help: Scott is the sole provider for his family and is going through an unimaginable and sudden trial. Earlier this year Scott discovered what seemed to be swelling or growths in his neck. A few weeks ago, after many tests, the doctors diagnosed him with Stage IV renal cancer (kidney cancer). He has a large tumor on his kidney which has metastasized to his lungs and throat. Scott will be undergoing a surgery in August to place a port in his chest where immunotherapy will be administered. Once he is healed from that surgery, he will undergo another procedure to remove the kidney in its entirety. This one will be more complex, with a much longer recovery time.
The date of this surgery is still unknown, but we will be sure to update when it is scheduled. Please pray that GOD’s will be done. GOD is truly amazing, not just when He pours blessings out on us, but in the midst of trials like this as well. Praise be to Him always! If you feel led to donate to offset the outstanding costs of medical bills already piling up, please do so here. Please share this page with your loved ones, family, and friends. This family is an incredible blessing to so many people. Let us pour out an abundance of love, prayer and financial support because the world would be a better place with people like Scott Butler.
