Scott Baeseman Medical Fund

Dear friends and family, as you have heard, our beloved teacher, father, and friend Scott Baeseman has been diagnosed with glioblastoma, an incurable and fatal brain cancer.  Because of his age and health, it is possible to have some quality of life for months to a few years. The average survival rate is 12 months with full chemotherapy and radiation. Next steps for him are rehabilitation from his surgery, getting his strength back, and then the full treatment plan. 

Scott can feel the love and prayers of his friends and family.  His faith is strong and his humor is intact. We are all proud of him facing mortality with grace, reflection, determination, and curiosity. 

In his own words: "I want to live fully until I can no longer. I am at peace. I feel loved by so many and I love all of you! Cry when you need to. Tell my ridiculous stories. Take care of one another.  Love hard."

Scott will need significant financial assistance to cover medical expenses that insurance does not cover, repair/remodel costs at his home beginning this week to accommodate rehabilitation, and home healthcare costs.  All money collected will be placed in a trust managed by his lawyer and power of attorney. Leftover funds will remain in the trust to be used for his daughters' college education.
